There was definitely an element of fear when I bought this bread. I was sure it was going to be stuffed with creamed crab.
I was intrigued by the images on the side of the packaging.
It appears there are instructions for the order in which you should eat the bread. As you remove legs, the bread “becomes” a different thing. The starting point is かにぱん, or crab bread (ぱん means bread).
The next stage is とんほぱん, or dragonfly bread.
Next is せみぱん, cicada bread.
And last is ケイタイぱん, or cell phone bread!
AND thankfully there was no creamed crab inside. It was just typical, sweet bread. Similar to a dinner roll.
