Product placement #18–Halloween Edition

Aggh, what happened? Where did October go? And more importantly, why didn’t I post this three weeks ago?? (It’s been sitting in my drafts since then!) Sorry fans–I know you’re irate, but it’s never too late for some Halloween cheer, right??? Fall–my favorite season. Halloween–my favorite holiday. I really can’t get enough of October and…

Product placement #15-faux ice cream cones

The box says “Petite Pastel.” I was mostly intrigued by the mini-ice cream cones. Let’s see what these little cones look like. Pretty cute. Mediocre chocolate for the cones. The “ice cream” part had a soft bit on the outside, and was slightly chewy on the inside. I didn’t notice any difference in flavor between…

Product placement #14- The most cool(ish) ice cream

Yes, that is what it looks like. Ice cream in a squeezy pouch. And yes, I know it looks super lame and terrible. But it’s not. It’s not at all. In fact it is incredibly, amazingly delicious and is my current obsession. I was first introduced to Coolish this August, when I had to go…

Product placement #13–mini treats

These little mini-treats, known as ブルボン プチ, or Bourbon Petite, can be found at most stores in Japan. There are tons of flavors, but usually are some kind of little cookie. Here’s their website to learn more about these delightful little guys: Bourbon Petite Their mascot is this little bear guy: Each little treat is pretty…

Product placement #12–Squirrel treats

As usual, I only bought these because of the charming animal on the front. The scoop of vanilla ice cream also caught my attention. I’m still perplexed as to what the squirrel has to do with ice cream. Do squirrels like ice cream? The outside ended up having a somewhat brow sugar mixed with cinnamon…

Product placement #11–little brownies

These little brownies were in the seasonal/new section at the grocery store so I thought I’d try them. I was definitely expecting more inside… They were pretty good. Tasted like typical brownies but had a slightly caramel center. I ate them all in one go!

Product placement #7–more animal themed treats

Yet again I was persuaded to buy something based on the level of cuteness. This time it was this “canael corn” (typo? Not sure…). At first I was a little worried about the flavor. The picture on the side shows the treat looking a very shrimp-like color, and that sounded pretty terrible to me. I…

Product placement #6–Usagi roll cake

As you can see I am easily persuaded by cute animals, and this usagi-chan (rabbit) was no exception. I love how his ears emphasize the length of this roll cake. It was pretty delicious, especially considering it was a packaged cake. The center was filled with a really  nice cream.

Product placement #5–White chocolate kuma-chan

Yesterday I saw this cute little bear staring back at me at the Fujiya sweets shop. Fujiya is a very popular sweets company in Japan. My first experience with Fujiya was when I bought “Milky” candy when I was in China when I was about 12 years old. I am not a fan of Milky….
